MOTIVATION MATTERS
Whether you have just begun your fitness program or you are a fitness fanatic already, congratulations! You are on your way to a healthier, more confident you! Here are some tips, reminders, and words of encouragement to keep you going strong!
1) Let your desire to be healthy outweigh your fear of failing. You have made the decision to get fit, that itself is a big step. It will take time, lots of energy, and commitment to get you there. Make a realistic list of your health and fitness goals, envision the new “you,” and remind yourself daily attaining your goals is within your control. Rarely does anyone intentionally fail to get fit, but they allow fear and frustration to get in the way.
START YOUR DAY BY TELLING YOURSELF…
“I have decided to take control of my health.”
“I desire to be the best I can be.”
2) Allow exercise to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary solution. Make exercise a priority, put it on your to-do list, and think of it as a habit, not as a burden. You made the decision to get fit, you deserve to be healthy, and now you do what it takes to fit your workout in. You will see within 3-4 workouts that you have more energy, you sleep better, and over time, you will crave your workout time.
WHEN YOU ARE PLANNING YOUR DAY, SAY TO YOURSELF…
“I do what I have to in order to get fit.”
“I deserve to be strong and healthy.”
3) Be proud, talk about it, and show yourself off. Two pounds, twenty inches, or ten more reps…it all feels good. Share your progress with important people in your life. They may need or want some inspiration or words of encouragement too. Sharing your story will positively reinforce your commitment. Feeling good never felt so great!
AFTER YOUR WORKOUT, SAY TO YOURSELF…
“I did my best today and I will do it again tomorrow.”
